When, in general, we would advise one to rebel against the state apparatus and not listen when it screams “stay in your home, do not go outside,” there was a fairly logical indication that to protect people’s lives, we should encourage the enforcement of public health procedures (done by the state and the police). While there were specific instances where the “advice” of the state apparatus was ignored (e.g., the Black Lives Matter protests), the general position of most anti-capitalists has been an unwilling submission to safety protocols for the sake of the general well-being of those at risk from the virus.
